The IOTA delivers a spectacular audio performance from an almost impossibly small cabinet. It is specifically intended for use very close to walls, or in locations such as bookshelves and desktops, where even a regular size compact/bookshelf design may be too large.
The Neat IOTA is now shipping following a hugely successful preview at the Manchester Sound and Vision Show in November and an equally successful launch at the Sound and Vision Show Bristol in February.

The IOTA incorporates the implementation of radical and unorthodox thinking in order to offer the same integrity and musical capability that distinguishes all Neat loudspeakers. It is especially suited to the current crop of all-in-one streaming systems, from which a very high level of sound quality may be attained, where space is usually at a premium.
The 2.6 litre cabinet is constructed from high grade MDF, which is internally damped.
The main drive unit is a smaller version of that used in the highly successful Motive range; a 100mm PP cone with a ferrite magnet assembly.
The tweeter is a 50mm vertical planar magnetic ‘ribbon’ device. The choice of tweeter is critical, because the tweeter lends the whole speaker its essential character and integrity. In this context, the tweeter’s strengths of superb dynamic contrast and accurate tonal colour are well matched to those of the main drive unit.
As with all Neat loudspeakers, the crossover is the result of painstaking development. All aspects of tuning & voicing are judged by ear, rather than referring to measurements. The crossover in the IOTA is a simple, hard-wired 3–element type. Low-loss air core inductors are employed, as well as high-grade polypropylene capacitors.
All crossover components are specified within very tight tolerances in order to ensure excellent pair matching.
